San Antonio Road Trip

Wyatt screamed 'Road Trip - I love you' for an hour straight on our car ride to San Antonio. To say the boys were excited is an understatement. We changed their car seats from rear to forward facing last week and ever since then they LOVE riding in 'mommy's car'.
We met up with Mema, Devyn, Doug and Dana and 'dada' at the San Antonio Zoo. We watched monkeys swing about, held butterflies in the butterfly garden and got to see lions, tigers and bears! The boys also rode their first merry-go-round. Waylon rode on the gorilla and Wyatt on a cheetah. But I would say that Waylon's favorite activity was hanging out with cousin 'Demin' and Wyatt just wanted to ride with Mema on her 'bike'.
After the zoo we had all worked up a big appetite so we went to get some authentic Mexican grub at 'Panchita's'. It was so great to hang out with the family and explore a little piece of San Antonio. The boys are still talking about Mema, Devyn, Doug and Dana (and the 'hippo'). Hope we can do it again soon.

Easter 2016!

The Easter Bunny came to visit Paramount Ave and left the boys with some pretty sweet stuff - they had baskets filled with dinosaur, books, chocolate, bath toys and even a dinosaur egg. We started the day with an egg hunt (which the boys only 50% understood).

and then we ate a big breakfast and then Skyped with MeMa. After that, the boys were exhausted.
So they took a nap. When they got up, we strolled over to our neighbor's house for an amazing Easter feast along with an egg hunt, a pinata and the boys favorite activity of the day - carrot washing!

Then we came home and Skyped with Baba and Papa. There was so much excitement that it's taking the boys a really really long time to go to sleep. Wyatt keeps getting up and screaming 'CAKE!!!!' I guess he takes after his mother.
Happy Easter! xo.

Halloween!

I really underestimated how much fun Halloween would be with 22 month olds. The boys refused to put on their costumes all week but when the time came to celebrate, they had so much fun! We've been watching lots of old Sesame Stree episodes from the 70's so Wyatt went as Cookie Monster (cookie is his favorite word these days) and Waylon was Big Bird.
We were invited by Ben Kweller (a musician both Mark and I was a fan of before we even met) to his house for a chili/trick or treating party on Ford Street which is known for their annual Halloween block party. They shut down the whole street and every house does something to celebrate. It made me love our neighborhood even more. The boys learned 'trick or treat' on the spot and had a blast running up to the each house and getting some candy. When we got home, they cried when I took off their costumes.

Already can't wait til next year!!
