Halloween!

I really underestimated how much fun Halloween would be with 22 month olds. The boys refused to put on their costumes all week but when the time came to celebrate, they had so much fun! We've been watching lots of old Sesame Stree episodes from the 70's so Wyatt went as Cookie Monster (cookie is his favorite word these days) and Waylon was Big Bird.
We were invited by Ben Kweller (a musician both Mark and I was a fan of before we even met) to his house for a chili/trick or treating party on Ford Street which is known for their annual Halloween block party. They shut down the whole street and every house does something to celebrate. It made me love our neighborhood even more. The boys learned 'trick or treat' on the spot and had a blast running up to the each house and getting some candy. When we got home, they cried when I took off their costumes.

Already can't wait til next year!!

AMOM

AMOM (Austin Mothers of Multiples) has been a huge support since the moment I found out we were having twins. I had no idea how different it is raising two babies/toddlers at the same time and it's priceless to have other moms and dads who understand... I've met some great friends and have been involved in some super fun events. Here are some photos from the Fall Carnival AMOM hosted in Manor, TX.

And now it's October...

Fall has finally fallen here in Austin... the weather is beautiful (today was 84) and we had such a fun weekend at the Barton Hills Farm - Located in Bastrop the farm has a corn maze, pumpkin patch, BBQ, bouncy horses and TWO trains - the favorite being the cow train. Wyatt seemed so bored while on the ride but proceeded to whine 'Choo choo' for the rest of the day. Here are some photos:

Time! Please slow down!

I can't believe I haven't written in so long. So much has happened. Walking! New words! Vacation! Things are good here in the 103 degree Austin August weather... the boys are loving school, they are really beginning to understand what we say and are able to communicate back to use. So fun! Here are a few photos from the past few months.

The boys are really walking!!

In July, we went to Colorado and we discovered that, following in our footsteps, W&W are travelers! We rode a 'choo choo' through the mountains, 'hiked' through the Garden of the Gods and walked in Rocky Mountain National park.

Now what adventures will August bring???

17 Months! And Father's Day 2015.

The boys are 17 months!

We've had a tough few weeks with the boys having one illness after anothera - hand foot and mouth, adenovirus, ear infections and a random one day stomach bug. The poor babies have been a little fussy and haven't been sleeping great but we feel so bad that they have not been feeling well. Thankfully they were feeling well on Father's Day so we were able to celebrate. We started the day with pancakes and presents

and then took a super fun trip to the Thinkery
and ended the day with dinner at the ABGB.
Happy 2nd Father's Day Mark (aka Dada)!

We have walkers!

And... they're off. W&W have both taken their first steps this weekend and they are on the go. Waylon can take up to 9 steps at once and Wyatt can take a few at a time. They are getting a real kick out of their new skill and are practicing all the time. Before we know it, they will be off and running!

First week of school

The boys started Montessori this week. The first few days were a bit of an adjustment but when I picked them up today they were so happy and not quite as exhaused as the first few days. According to their guide, Miss Frida, Waylon is a little explorer with no fear of crawling to all corners of the playground. Wyatt is a little less adventurous and was a little more hesitant to socialize. They were both pretty clingy when we got home. But I think they are going to grow to love it!
